Q. How do I work on wizpy OS?

wizpy uses devices on a PC such as network card, keyboard, display and etc which is loaded on to Turbolinux OS. Applications such as web browser, mail client and others are available for your everyday computing.

Q. What applications are installed?

wizpy is loaded with following applications.
Other software are planned to be available from wizpy Download service.

Web Browser: Firefox
Mail Client: Thunderbird
Office Suite: OpenOffice.org * available via download for 2GB model.
Other: Media Converting Software, IP Phone, other accessaries.


Q. Where is data stored?

Data created by applications on wizpy can be stored on wizpy. wizpy Network Storage is also available for storage.
Storage Space  2GB Model: About 1GB, 4GB Model: About 2.8GB


Q. Where is browser's history?

Since wizpy OS bypasses host OS, history is not stored on local storage device. Any history data will be stored on wizpy's disk storage.


Q. How do I access local hard disk?

Pre-defined hard disk space (formatted in NTFS format) on MS Windows XP can be accessed. Other hard disk storage cannot be accessed. Although wizpy utilizes hardware component other than hard disk for wizpy OS, viewing, copying and/or modifying local hard disk is not allowed. Any diagnostic and/or recovery program is not available.


Q. How do I connect to the internet using dialup?

Configuration utility (KPPP) is installed on wizpy for modem card.


Q. How do I connect tothe internet?

wizpy uses network device located on host PC to connect to the internet. Automatic configuration is used for most of the connection and utilities are available for manual connection. If the network limits the access to a certain web site and/or network, wizpy is not allowed to connect those web site and/or network.


Q. How can I upgrade softwares?

wizpy OS and approved applications can be upgraded from wizpy Update after your registration for wizpy Club.


Q. Can I install other OSs?

wizpy does not support any other OS to be installed.


Q. wizpy OS doesn't boot

When booting wizpy OS, BIOS configuration may need to be changed. In many cases, Function key specified at the boot time or Delete key will start BIOS configuration utility. By setting USB CD-ROM/USB HDD as the highest priority, wizpy OS should boot.
If changing BIOS configuration does not resolve the issue, please use Boot CD-ROM.
Please refer to the User's Guide included with wizpy.


Q. I accidentally deleted system file!

Restoration of system file requires manual intervention by our support center. wizpy needs to be sent back to our support center for the fix. (Paid Service)


Q. Application modules disappeared when I initialized a player.

Applications on wizpy OS is provided as an application module and stored on data area. By initializing wizpy's data area from wizpy, application modules are deleted.
Please refer to the following procedure to restore application module.

Adding Application Module
1. Boot wizpy OS
2. Login to wizpy Club from the desktop icon.
3. Go to wizpy plugin or plugin.
4. Available plugins are listed for download.
 4-1. Right click the link for the preferred application.
 4-2. Select "Save to disk."
 4-3. Move under /mnt/player. (Click upper arrow twice)
 4-4. Under player directory, create ".appmod" directory and save the application module under ".appmod" directory.
 * repeat the procedure for each application module you want to download.
5. Go to kmenu then start wizpy Update.
Please refer to wizpy OS User's Guide "15. wizpy update" for details.
6. By selecting "Application Modules" on top right hand side of wizpy update screen, list of application modules will be displayed.
Select an application you want to use and click "Start" then the status becomes "In Use."
7. After turning on all application modules you have downloaded, restart wizpy OS and confirm whether if application is usable.


Q. I cannot move ATOK menu bar.

After changing the resolution, you need to restart wizpy OS to allow ATOK menu bar to be moved.


Q. wizpy OS Boot Disk

wizpy OS Boot Disk supports wizpy OS to boot when USB CD-ROM/USB-HDD is not supported by host PC.
Although wizpy OS Boot Disk is included in wizpy package, wizpy OS Boot Disk can be created. Please refer to the following URL for details.
